Campground Services

All campground services are available from May 1 st thru October 15 th

The campground has 42 sites that can accommodate RVs and tents. Water, electricity, and full hook-ups are available. Many sites are convenient 'pull-throughs', which can accommodate even the largest vehicles.

Picnic tables and fireboxes are located at every site, and the washrooms have free hot showers, and flush toilets. We also have a beautiful log cook shelter, so you can enjoy the fresh air and scenery -- come rain or shine! This shelter seats 30+ so it is great for larger groups of people.

The Blue River Campground is pleased to announce a New Office Building and Store in 2005!!! Inspired by the success of our new Camping Cabins in 2003 and our traditional Tipi rentals, we just had to keep building! This addition completes our campground service offerings.

While in the town of Blue River, a variety of activities and services are located within walking distance (less than 20 minutes in most cases):

  • Swimming and Diving at Eleanor Lake
  • Playground at the Blue River Community Park for young children
  • Baseball Diamond (10 minute walk)
  • Restaurants serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
  • Coffee Shop (with espressos)
  • Fine dining
  • Walking Paths/ Hiking Trails
  • Canoeing at Eleanor Lake (5min walk)
  • Canoeing at Murtle Lake (1hr)
  • Canoeing at Mud Lake (10 minute drive)

The Blue River Campground also rents canoeing and camping equipment for use at four nearby lakes - Eleanor Lake, Mud Lake, Mystery Lake, and Murtle Lake. Mud Lake and Mystery Lake are quiet places where overnight camping and fishing is permitted. Murtle Lake is the largest no-motors lake in North America -- a natural paradise!! You can journey to the wilderness of Murtle Lake in Wells Grey Provincial Park for overnight canoeing/camping/fishing trips. For short trips, less than half a day, consider Eleanor Lake for canoeing and fishing.

The campground store carries drinks, snacks, fishing supplies and camping gear. Complete fishing rods, and complete camping equipment are also for rent. We also carry BC Fishing Licences and BC Forestry Site Camping Permits for your convenience. The guidebook to Wells Grey Park and topographical map of Murtle Lake are popular items.

Imagine... Spending the night in a Blackfoot or Cree Tipi after a night in front of the campfire! And the following morning setting out into the wilderness of the Canadian Rockies on a canoe trip... We can help make this a reality for you!

Come for a visit, and enjoy your stay!
